Agnes
MacKinnon –
Portaupique, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Montrose, she was
the daughter of the late Neil and Mary (Richards)
MacKinnon.
Living in Truro for many years, she was employed at
Stanfield’s and then retired from hairdressing to reside in
Portaupique. Agnes loved her family and all children; she especially
enjoyed the time her grandchildren and great grandchildren spent with
her.
She took great pride and enjoyment in her flower gardens and
shared special joy and love with her dog, Marley. She enjoyed time
with Carolyn at the cottage and yard sales, country music, jams with
Carolyn and Maggie, family suppers and BBQs, time with Maura that they
shared with grandbabies and sleepovers with
grandchildren.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Mimi (Jeff), Truro
Heights; son, Bill (Erin), Portaupique; sister, Phyllis (Lee) Stewart,
Oxford; brother, Neil (Jeanette) MacKinnon, Hilden; brother-in-law,
Charles MacLellan, Highland Village; granddaughters, Cassie (Doug)
Blois, Truro; Bethany (Chandler) House, Portaupique; grandsons, Rob
(Morgan) Blois, Truro; Bailey, Bradley, Elijah and Emmitt MacKinnon,
Portaupique; great granddaughters, Danica and Callie, Truro; great
grandsons, Hayden and Parker, Truro; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother,
Lloyd in infancy; sisters, Barbara MacLellan and Carolyn (Danny)
Mattix; soul mate, Arden Mattix.
A celebration of Agnes’ life will be held 2 p.m.,
Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Portaupique Cemetery, Pastor Doug
Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers, consider doing a kind deed
for someone or contributing to Colchester SPCA.
