Ruth E Holloway

Ruth E Holloway

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Ruth Ethel Holloway (Russell), aged 63 years. Ruth passed away at her home in Bloomfield on Sunday, December 15, in the arms of her husband, Tolson and their daughter, Terrilynn. She was surrounded by the love of her family, friends and beloved pets.
Ruth was born on January 15, 1956 to Rosie and the late Samuel Russell of Lethbridge. She is survived by her brothers Max (Diane) and Terry (Kathy) also of Lethbridge.
Ruth married Tolson (son of the late Lizzie & Alec Holloway) in 1980 and they moved into their home in the Holloway Garden in Bloomfield. They had their only daughter, Terrilynn, in 1982. Terrilynn resides in Bloomfield with her partner, Clay and Ruth’s 2 grand-dogs. She will be missed beyond measure by Tols and Terrilynn.
Her marriage to Tolson gave Ruth a large extended family. Their support and love will never be forgotten. She will be dearly missed by her brothers/sisters-in-law: Maurice (Addie), Larry (Grace), Clar (Barb), Val (Cram), Keith (Sonya), June (Joan), Shannon (Bernice), and Randy (Roxane). Her nieces and nephews also hold her dearly in their hearts. Ruth will also be missed by Char and Glenys Waye, who she thought of as family. Ruth leaves a large circle of family and friends with fond and loving memories.
Ruth was a quiet, compassionate lady who fought a long, difficult battle with cancer without compliant. When asked how she was feeling, she would reply ”I’m good” and when faced with an obstacle she would say “It’s just another bump in the road.” She was an inspiration to many.
Terrilynn & Tols would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone involved in Ruth’s care. To Dr. Joanne MacIntye, there are no words to express how grateful we are for your compassion and care over the years. Thank you to the members of the Haematology Team and the Ambulatory Treatment Program at the Health Sciences Centre; you made difficult days a little easier. To the staff at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital and Dr. Solomon, thank you for your care and kindness. Thank you to staff at Community Health, Lethbridge; Jennifer, your compassion and respect is second to none. Thanks to Marlene and the staff at Musgravetown Pharmachoice. Thank you to Pam and Krissy of Fewer’s for their compassion and understanding while difficult decisions had to be made. Ruth’s life was touched by so many caring people. While we are unable to thank everyone individually, please know that we are grateful to each and every one of you. We would like to thank our family and friends for their love and support during Ruth’s journey. You each hold a special place in our hearts.
As per Ruth’s wishes, cremation is taking place. She loved being at home, and that is where she will rest forever. On Sunday, December 22, 2019, from 2pm-8pm, the family will be having a Celebration of Ruth’s Life. Please drop by Ruth & Tols’ home (7 Alec’s Garden) in Bloomfield, to remember the beautiful person she was, to share some memories, laughter and tears. Ruth was a huge animal lover. Her home was filled with dogs and cats that she cherished. It is her wish, that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to Feral Felines Rescue and Rehabilitation in Lethbridge.
“I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day
When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away
Then we’ll enjoy the beauty where all things are new
I want to stroll over Heaven with you.”

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ruth E Holloway
