Ralph’s Obituary
DEVEAU, Ralph J. – September 2, 1946-December 1, 2019 – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Deveau. Ralph was the son of late Emillier and Margaret Deveau. He was born and raised in Salmon River, Digby County, with seven siblings. At a young age he moved to Ontario to work in construction where he met his later-to-be wife, Beverley. At the age of 27 he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and moved back home to Nova Scotia where they raised two children. His last battle was with cancer. Through all of his illnesses he was a trooper and showed strength like no other. He is survived by his son, Dean (Amy) Deveau and their children, Marly, Morgan and Macy, his daughter Laurie (Darren) Williams and their children, Ashley (Jeremy) Williams and Brad Williams, as well as his great grandchildren, Rylan, Reid (AKA as “The Boss” to Grampy ) and Zach. He is also survived by his brothers André (Marlene), David (Linda) and Jerry (Linda) Deveau. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverley Deveau, his father and mother, Emillier and Margaret Deveau, and his brothers Eugene, Leonard, Emile and sister Emma. An extra special thank you goes out to the staff of the Villa and the Meadows for the wonderful care he was given while in those homes. The smile that you put on his face did not go unnoticed by us. There are many of you that became friends to him, and for that we are so very thankful. You made his difficult days so much easier. Also, a special mention to special friends that made and maintained their friendships while he was in the homes: Gus Maillet, Carol Higby and Ray Babin – your visits meant so much to him. His teasing and sense of humour will be missed by many. It’s time for some peace Dad…you will be missed. All are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Ralph at The Meadows in Yarmouth on Thursday, December 5th at 10:30 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth.
