Phyllis Eleanor Kalynchuk
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Eleanor Kalynchuk on December 26, 2019. She was born in Myrnam, Alberta on December 9, 1935.
Phyllis was a Registered Nurse who augmented her studies to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Education Administration. She worked as a Dialysis Nurse at the University of Alberta Hospital, as well as a Clinical Nurse instructor in Nephrology. She finalized her career as the Director of Nephrology Nursing at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Eugene; sons, Kenneth (Tanis), Dwayne (Ursula) and James (Indira); and six grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen), Evan (Candace), Adrian (Regan), Jennifer, Andrew and Verona.
The family would like to acknowledge the attentive care provided to Phyllis from the staff at the Shepherds-Garden facility in Millwoods in Edmonton, Alberta.
Divine Liturgy Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9507 Austin O’Brien Road. Interment in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, 540061, RR1 (1.2 miles south of Highway 45, on Range Road 91), Myrnam. No flowers please, but should anyone wish to donate to a charity in memory of Phyllis, her favourite was the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Northern Alberta & The Territories Branch, 202, 11227 Jasper Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L5, or online at www.kidney.ca.
