Melanie’s Obituary
RAPP, Melanie Gail – 49, Cape Negro, formerly of Sherose Island, passed away December 5, 2019. Born April 24, 1970, in Sandy Point, she was a daughter of Richard Atkinson (Dora) and Shirley (Greenwood) Atkinson. Melanie loved many things in life and loved to the fullest, she never wanted to lose a chance on an adventure. She spent so much time in the outdoors doing something around the house, planting flowers or getting objects to craft with. She was a very crafty person who could create anything that you had in your mind and whatever she made, would put a smile on your face when seeing her work. She loved going to all the rallies and races because nothing she enjoyed more was the rumbling excitement of the truck engines, mud was something she liked to get full of. A beaming light in someone’s rainy day, the shoulder to cry on, the person to vent to, she was that person. Melanie tackled any curveball life could throw her and she got through it with her head held up. Her kids always had the one special spot in her heart; there wasn’t anything she wasn’t willing to do for her kids. From hockey to can skate and all in between, she was the one that did it all. Anyone that knows her knows that she loved 3 things the most and that was her animals, lighthouses and her Dr Pepper. The list can go on and on but there isn’t enough paper in the world to describe how amazing of a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and an incredible friend. Our love is a bond that will never be broken, our love will never stop glowing, we love you forever and a day, Josh Brad and Kate. She is survived by former husband, Sheldon Rapp; sons, Joshua Rapp, Bradley Rapp; daughter, Kaitlin Rapp; brother, Kenneth Atkinson; sister, Stephanie (Atkinson) O’Connor (Carle); one grandchild, Jaxzen Rapp. There will be a visitation held, Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The memorial service will be held, Monday, December 9, 2 p.m., at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Rev Brad Eisan officiating. Interment to follow in Ingomar Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA. Online condolences may be sent to huskilson@ns.aliantzinc.ca or you may sign the guest book at www.huskilson.net
