There is a new star in the heavens tonight!
On the evening of December 5th, our mother slipped away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family. Born in Delaware Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Millie Fisher, predeceased by her husband Heath, son George and younger sister Lois (George) Martin. Survived by her daughter Lauren (Bernard) Fougere, siblings Florence (Ron) Jacobs, Helen (Garth) Bevan, Danny (Lynn) Fisher and granddaughter, Nyah.
A bright light while on earth, our amazing mother was a sincere, loving, genuine soul. A deeply caring mother, grandmother and a warm and devoted wife. Although she is no longer with us, we hold the fond memories of moms intellect, fun, positive attitude and dry wit. Musically talented, mom was a beautiful pianist. She would often reminisce of the many sing-alongs around the piano with her family in St. Catharines. Our home was always filled with music be it show tunes, hymn’s or the classics. Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” was one of moms favourites.
Mom enjoyed her career with the Toronto Dominion Bank for many years and attended Dalhousie University to continue her education in Finance and Communications. Always generous with her time to help others, mom was very active in the community after retirement, a force to be reckon with, in her endless volunteer work at the Canadian Cancer Society (Dartmouth Chapter). Mom was also a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association, organizing entertainment and the annual Children’s Christmas Party.
We would like to thank Lynn Key, owner of Heart to Heart In Home Care for the into-the-early-hours support and compassion. We would like to thank moms caregivers for their continuous comfort and love …providing a graceful departure. We would also like to thank Dr. Dobek for her medical expertise, giving mom comfort in her time of need. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Margaret May Taylor-Munro December 05 2019..
