Obituary for
Lillian Nadia Dziaba
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Lillian Nadia Dziaba announces her sudden and unexpected passing on December 27, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Lillian will be forever remembered and loved by her husband of 52 years, Don; and her daughters, Sandy (Dustin) Regehr and Terri (Scott) Raymond. Her pride and joy were her five grandsons, Adam, Connor, Reid, Kieran and Caleb. She leaves behind her mother, Pauline Diduck; brother, Dave (Reta) Diduck; sisters, Shirley (Alvin) Gall and Elaine (Forrest) Thompson; sister-in-law, Irene (Nick) Huley; brother-in-law, John Huley, many nieces and nephews; and numerous family and friends. She had five loving godsons; Ken Kamineski, Darrel Huley, Brent Diduck, Ryan Thompson, and Derek Gall. Lillian was predeceased by her father, Nick Diduck; in-laws, Mike and Mary Dziaba; sister-in-law, Elsie Huley; brother-in-law, Dennis Chudyk; and nephew, Trevor Huley. Lillian loved God and her family more than anything else. She loved to golf, garden, sew, travel, entertain and bake special care packages for those she loved. Lillian was a faithful servant of God, selflessly filling her days volunteering her time and energy. She lived her life with integrity, humility and grace. Her heart was overflowing with empathy, compassion and genuine, unconditional love and her actions always reflected her faith.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Meyer and the staff of CVICU at Mazankowski Alberta Health Institute for their care and compassion.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 7007 – 109 Street. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to the Volunteer Fund at St. Basil’s Cultural Centre.
