Letitia “Tish”
Slater, 92, of Golden Years Estates, passed away peacefully at her
residence on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Born in Miramichi, she was
the daughter of the late Earl and Annie (Gerrish)
Jardine.
Tish worked for the T. Eaton
Co. Ltd. and Birks Jewellers in her early years, and then stayed home
to raise her family. She enjoyed knitting, reading and socializing
with friends.
Tish will be sadly missed by
her daughter, Debra Sherwood (Richard) of Moncton; grandchildren,
Amanda Taylor (Troy), Ashley Sherwood (Joey Seabrook), Scott Slater,
Joey Slater, Jon Slater, Jeff Russell, Rod Russell (April), Darren
Slater (Barb) and Kristy Smith (Shane); great grandchildren, Avery,
Ryan, Jayden, Keegan, Robyn, Katherine, Charlotte and Alden;
daughters-in-law, Sherry Slater and Dina Slater; son-in-law, John
Russell; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to her parents,
she was predeceased by her husband, George Slater (June 2019);
daughter, Barbara Russell; sons, William “Bill” Slater and
Glenn Slater and sister, Doreen Travis.
A special thank you goes out
to Ashley, Letitia’s granddaughter, who sat with her during
her final days and also to the staff at Golden Years Estates for their
tremendous care given to Mom during her
stay.
There will be no visitation
hours or funeral service. Interment to be held in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens at a later date.
Arrangements under the
professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995).
