It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that Ken Shee Chow has passed away peacefully in his 90th year on December 17, 2019 at the Wing Kei Greenview Nursing Home in Calgary, Alberta. Ken is predeceased by his wife Fay. Ken is the proud father to sons, Marshall (Karen) of Blind River, Ontario, Larry (Pauline) of Burnaby, BC and Gordon (Jenny) of Calgary, Alberta; and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Curtis Chow of Elliot Lake, Ontario, Ovina Chow of Toronto, Ontario, Dylan Chow of Burnaby, BC, William Chow and Sophie Chow both of Calgary, Alberta. Born in 1929 in Hoiping, China, Ken immigrated to Canada in 1953 to join his relatives in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Not long after, Ken met and married Fay in 1959 and started his family. Although, life was often difficult, he worked hard and persevered in the food service and restaurant industry and provided for his family. He owned the Hong Kong Café in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in the 1960’s and eventually finished his career at the Valley View Centre where he retired in 1994. He loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. From humble roots, Ken can be the most proud of the legacy he leaves behind. A special thank you to the staff at the Wing Kei Greenview Nursing Home for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like extend their sincere gratitude to W.J. Jones and Sons Funeral Home for being understanding and accommodation during this difficult time. A Funeral services will be held on January 3, 2020, 1:00PM, at W.J. Jones Funeral Chapel at 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Gale Chow will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested friends and family can make donations to a charity of their choice in memory of Ken Chow. In living memory of Ken, a memorial planting will be made by Jones – Parkview Funeral Services.
