John Edward Smith
1935-2019
John Edward Smith – age 84, of North Alton, passed away on
Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late Vernon and Marion (Berry)
Bowlby. John owned and operated a towing company in Ontario and loved
to work. He was an auxiliary member of the Ontario Provincial Police
and held a private pilots license. He loved to fly. He is survived by
his wife, Denise (West); a son, Grant (Michele), Orlando;
grandchildren, Kasanja, Brendan, Simone, Sierra; sisters, Hazel
England, Verna Wheaton, Frona (Carl) Gates, Phyllis (Lloyd) Legge and
Jeanie (Eric) Doyle; brothers, Gordon (Diane) and Dale; many nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Bertha, Beatrice and
Lillian; brothers, Frank, Wesley and Carl. Cremation has taken place
and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral
service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made
to an animal charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
