Obituary of Jane Marsh Osmond
Jane Marsh Hedges-Osmond was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Grand Falls to John and Bessie Hedges. She continued to live in Grand Falls after serving a short time with the Royal Canadian Navy from Aug. 1943 – Dec. 1944. She married her soul mate and the love of her life Nelson Osmond in 1947. Together they had four children: John (deceased), Holly, David and Debbie.
Jane’s greatest passion in life was her family, whom she loved dearly. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren returned that love “unconditionally.” She loved to knit, sew, play cards and spend lots of hours in her kitchen trying new recipes.
Janes was predeceased by her loving husband Nelson; son, John; parents: John and Bessie Hedges; sisters: Minnie, Hattie, Mildred and Irene; brothers: Jack, Harold, Ned, Mick and Derick; special niece Phyllis Davis.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Holly (Bill), Goose Bay; Debbie (Gary), Curling and Son, David, Port Alice, BC; grandchildren: Angela, Robert, Heidi (Pat) and Christine (Lee); great-grandchildren: Ayla, Brody, Austin and Max; special niece and god-daughter Teena Adey and also a large circle of friends and relatives.
Rev. Roy Martin and Rev. Geoff Blackwood will conduct the funeral service on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from St. Alban’s Anglican Church with interment at the Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Allen, Wayne Cole, Edward Davis, John Hedges, Gene Hedges and Bill Russell.
