1933-2019
HOLLORAN, James “Jim” Edward
– Age 86, Pirate Harbour passed away
peacefully on Sunday December 1, 2019 at home. Theresa
(Grady)(Leet) Holloran lost her loving and faithful friend.
Born July 14, 1933 in Marshy Hope. Jim was the son
of the late Jim Holloran and Margaret (Bessie) Carter, Sand Point,
Guysborough County.
Jim went to Toronto at an early age (16) and made
many life long friends, returning to Nova Scotia in 1973 to work many
jobs NSPC , Seaboard, Super port Marine, school bus driver, Operator
of Jim’s Irving and owner/operator of Jim’s
Upholstery and Forest and Stream Auto Body. He enjoyed wood
working, gardening and lending a helping hand to whomever
asked. He usually had an answer to whatever the problem was
or tried his best to find one.
Besides his wife Theresa, Jim leaves his daughter
Anna (Allister) DeCoste, Antigonish, Step daughter Lori, Kimberly Leet
(Chris), Ottawa, Cyril (Shannon) Leet, Tottenham and his special step
daughter Laura Leet Holloran (Jim), Toronto. Three
Grandchildren and a brother Henry (Bud) O’Holloran, Sand
Point, several nieces and nephews and many four legged
friends.
Jim was predeceased by sisters Anna
Marie and Betti (Sara), Brother in laws Chuck Peters and Jim Heberson,
Step father George Carter, first wife Barb and second wife
Joan.
Theresa and family would like to Thank
Dr. Glenn Gallivan and Dr.Phillip Cooper. Also the
palliative care nurses of the 4th floor,
St.Martha’s and the nurses of Unit 3B, Cape Breton Regional
. A special Thanks to all neighbours and friends for their
support during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place under the care
and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port
Hawkesbury. At Jim’s request there will be no
visitation or funeral service also by request no flower’s
.
The family will receive friends at the
Mulgrave Fire Hall on Thursday December 5 from
3:00pm-7:00pm. For a time of remembrance. A
reception and light lunch will be held at this time.
In Jim’s memory “Lend
someone a helping hand or wave the next time you
meet”.
