October 26, 1937 – December 19, 2019

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Gus Martret, aged 82 years. Predeceased by his parents Augustus and Mary Martret; his loving wife Marie (nee Delaney); sisters and brother Esther McHugh, Shirley Clancey (Pat), Florence Smith (Jim) and Joseph Martret (Mary); infant daughter Elizabeth. Left to cherish his life his daughter Esther Dinn; grandchildren Jayne (Jason), Tom (Kayla), Glynda and Wyndee; grandchildren Dylan, Jacob, Fallyn and Andre; sisters Mary Squires (Bill, deceased), Violet Moore (Jack, deceased); brothers and sisters-in-law Monica (Clarence) Coady, Patsy, David (Hazel) Delaney and Derm (Joce) Delaney as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 7 East St. Clare’s especially Gerald, Ann, Janet and Ellie for all their care and attention given to Gus. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 12 noon – 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10 a.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
