Gregory Phillips 1950 –

It is with heavy hearts we announce that after a courageous battle with cancer Gregory Phillips passed away at 69 years of age on December 10, 2019. As were his wishes, he passed in his home in Vavenby, BC with his wife, son and daughter holding him tight.
Greg had the kindest heart that will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife Jo-Anne and children Matthew (Melissa), Rebecca (Craig) and Sianelle as well as his two sisters Diane Griswold and Lorilyn (Dave) Mowat, niece Krista and nephews Erik and Kraig. Greg so loved his extended family, Kris (Carmen) Tams, Veronica (Kevin) Scott, Sandy (Aaron) Schmidt and Trisha Tams along with many grandchildren.
Greg faithfully provided for his family working at Weyerhaeuser mill for 28 years until it closed in 2002. A few years later he worked with Yellowhead mining where he learned different skills and made more friends, which is what he did best. He was the kind of man that would walk up to a stranger and shake their hand, strike up a conversation then watch a friendship bloom. Greg truly loved unconditionally, believed there was good in everyone (except Trump) and would give his last dollar to anyone who needed it. Greg had a passion for hot rod cars, baseball, music and movies. Surely he and John Wayne are shootin’ the breeze now.
Greg was clear with his wishes, no crying allowed. We are all to keep the many good memories close to our hearts and celebrate his life with good music and a glass (or two) of rum. We extend the invitation to anyone wishing to share this celebration with Greg’s family in the spring of 2020.
The date for this
Celebration of Life will be set soon.
