Gilberto’s Obituary
Peacefully at Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on December 14th, 2019 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria de Lurdes Silva to whom he was married for 60 years. Loving father of John and Lurdes, Mary and Serafim Benevides, the late Maria Cremilda French and the late Deborah Malda. Cherished Vavô of Kevin and Isabel, Christina and Carlos, Jessica and Zak, Melanie and Yuri, Sara and Daniel, Alyson, Michael, and bisavô of Gabriella, Cristiano, Angelina, Matteo, Zakes, Emilio, and baby on the way. Predeceased by each of his siblings. Beloved uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Serafina and Antonio Rodrigues. Sadly missed by many additional family and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth’s Villa for all their care and compassion. Gilberto was the strongest, most hard working, respectable, and most loving family man. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday, December 17th from 2-4 & 6-9p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10a.m. on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Church. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In kindness, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
