With heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the passing of Gilbert Wallewein, late of Estevan, SK on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 83 years.
Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, Alma and John Wallewein; his loving wife of 50 years, Helen and his sister Elieen Broomfield.
Gilbert will be greatly missed by his children, Ken (Julie-Anne) Wallewein and children Riley and Reagan; Kevin (Brenda) Wallewein and children Alyssa, Kelsey (Owen), Lucas and Olivia; Loretta (Blaise) Kot and children Kyle (Dana), Austin (Aimee), Madison (Derek) and Jada; Lynn (Mark) Matthies and children Calvin (Amy), Logan (Sheri) and Michaella (Kolby); Debbie (Steven) Hoffort and children Brie and Matthew; Denise Morstad and children Kate, Jayne and John. Gilbert’s memory will be cherished by his great grandchildren Madden, Dawson and Cassie; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held January 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, Estevan with Sandy Dalziel officiating. A time of lunch and fellowship will be held in the church auditorium immediately following the service. Interment will take place at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.
Those so wishing may make donations in memory of Gilbert to the New Estevan Regional Nursing Home, 1201 – 2nd Street, Estevan, SK S4A 0M1.
