Geraldine “Genie” Margaret Wood ~ age 81 of Kingston, NS, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. She was the daughter of the late Perle J. and Dora M. (Gossen) Wagner born May 2, 1938 in Plympton, NS. She is survived by her daughters, Faye Wood, Auburn; Judy (Wayne) Yohnke, Wilmot; Darlene (Raymond) Roche, Kingston; Bonnie Wood (Mike Higgins), Kingston; Nancy (Sam) Cassar, Parkers Cove; and son, George Wood, Kingston; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Helen (Mike) Filichuck, Ontario and brother, Harvey Wagner, Digby; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Mike Higgins; sons Whitney and John Wood; sisters, Blanche Taylor, Nancy Pineo, Dorothy Hyson, Elizabeth Wagner and brothers Carl, Harley and Robert Wagner. Genie loved her bingo and enjoyed a good game of 45’s with her friends at Tibbetts Home for Special Care. She could bake you anything and the teapot was always on. She enjoyed her music and singing with her son while he played guitar. Most of all she loved her family unconditionally. She was a generous and kind person who was always thinking of and helping others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:00PM, Monday, December 30, 2019, in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 20 Morden Road, Auburn, with Rev. Mel Malton officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
