Eva Mary Caissie
1929-2019
At the age of 90 years, Eva Caissie (Williams) of Minto, NB passed
away at the Victoria Glen Manor in Perth-Andover, NB on December 19th,
2019.
Born in Bronson, NB on June 26th, 1929, she was the daughter of the
late Joseph and Jeanne (Gauvin) Williams. In 1951, Eva married Edmond
Caissie and together they celebrated 48 years of marriage until his
passing in 1999.
Eva had a strong sense of faith and a generous heart, she spent her
time, energy and skills volunteering with a goal to improve her
community and the lives of others. She was an expert knitter and
crafter, her beautiful creations have been enjoyed by many and are
used daily.
Eva is survived by a daughter Alice (Walter) Dee of Grand Falls, NB
and a son Anthony (late Dianna) of St. John, NB, three grand-daughters
Shelley (Nigel) Girgrah, Sheila (Gilles) Sirois, Sarah (Bob) Elliott
and eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Liam, Sophie, Gavin, Xavier,
Hunter, Xander and Zachary, two sisters Flora (Holly) Shirley, of
Minto, NB, Alice (Ralph) Hamilton of Fredericton, NB, as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond, her son’s partner Dianna,
five brothers Henry, Phil, Joseph, Earl, Paul and four sisters Liza,
Doris, Rita and Viola.
Visitation will take place at Hogg Funeral Services, Minto, NB, on
Monday, December 23, from 10am-12pm. A funeral Mass will be held at
the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Minto, NB on Monday, December 23 at
1pm. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in
the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Saint Bridget’s Cemetery
would be appreciated by the family. Eva’s family would like to
sincerely thank the staff of the Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover,
NB, as well as Father Gilbert Dodatto, sister A. Doucet and all the
volunteers for their professionalism and the compassion they showed to
Eva during her stay with them.
