Christakis, Emmanuel (June 30, 1933 – December 18, 2019)
It is with great sadness that we announce his death at the age of 86 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Emmanuel is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Stefanoula. Dear father of Harry and Anna (Pete Delorme). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Evan, Alexandra, Stephanie and Christopher. Emmanuel grew up on the island of Crete before immigrating to Canada in 1969 with his young family. He put his shoe making skills to work at the Bauer/Canstar factory for 30 years where he made custom skates for NHL players. Emmanuel’s family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Trisagion Prayers 7 pm Sunday. Funeral Service at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Rd., on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation or Sts.
