It is with great regret and sadness that the family of Edward Douglas LeMoel would like to announce his passing suddenly on December 20th, 2019 in Trail. He was born in Trail.
To all friends and family who knew him, he was a kind, gentle, and decent human being who enjoyed life and several past-times.
Growing up in Trail, he displayed his talents in baseball, hockey and curling. He was a star in Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and carried is ball talents to Lewiston/Clarke College in Idaho. Pitching and short-stop were his best positions and earned him a nick name of “Fast Eddy”.
He learned the game of curling from his Father Gil LeMoel and played on championship teams including winning the Canadian Men’s College AA Championship in 1984, and represented Northwest Territories at the NWT/Yukon Men’s and Mixed Championships.
Some of Ed’s fondest memories were from the time he lived in Yellowknife where he enjoyed curling, fishing and hiking.
We would like to thank all his friends and teammates who helped him along his journey.
Ed is survived by his brothers Brian (Karen), Dennis and Darrell (Wendy); Aunt Marg Lavorato, Uncle Ernie and Aunt Irene Campbell; nieces Erin (Andy) Kailey (John), and Marlyse; nephews Casey (Candice), David and Shaun LeMoel; and great niece Ruby; cousins Kim (Jerry) Bella, Gary and David (Wendy) Lavorato; Paulette Campbell, Kent, Laurie, Kevin, and Lorne Campbell. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Edward; mother and father Gil and Ruby LeMoel; Aunt Pauline and Uncle Joe LeMoel and Uncle Al Lavorato.
There will be no service. The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life. Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
