His love of golf kept him on the links well into his 80’s. Dad maintained his sharp mind and independence to the end with weekly crib or bridge games and trips to the mall for coffee and people watching, as he put it.

And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
‘cause you are the wind beneath my wings.”
