Donna Elizabeth Wallace
1928-2019
It is with sadness that the family of Donna Elizabeth
(McConnell) Wallace announces her death on December 20, 2019, at
Hospice House Fredericton. Donna was born in Fredericton, the daughter
of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Lord) McConnell, and was the wife
of the late Sterling Wallace.
Donna lived a long and happy life, and traveled extensively
both before and after her retirement. Her kindness and generosity
touched many lives. In earlier years she was involved in many
community groups, some of which were: Rotary, IODE, Tri-Service and
several advisory boards. She was an honory life member and
past president of the Fredericton Society of St. Andrew,
life member and past president of the York-Sunbury Historical
Society. She was a parishioner of Christ Church Cathedral,
where through the years she served in various
capacities.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased
by her sisters Leona Harvie and Merle Smith; brother Alvah McConnell;
nieces Wanda Cummings and Jane Olmstead; great nephew Mark
Prosser. She is survived by brother Eugene McConnell of
Woodstock; two daughters Marye Delisle (Guy) and Cynthia Wallace; son
Robert Wallace (Vicki); grandchildren Suzanne, Maxine, Patrick,
Alexandria, Evangeline, Julia and Ian; five great grandchildren; ten
beloved nieces and nephews; as well as many long time and very dear
friends.
A visitation will be held at Christ Church
Cathedral on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 2 – 4 pm and 7
– 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church
Cathedral on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2 pm with The Very Rev.
Geoffrey Hall officiating and The Rev. Canon T.A. Smith assisting.
Interment will be at Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial
tributes may be made to Hospice House Fredericton, or to a charity of
the donor’s choice.
