Obituary
Cyril Maxwell Eastman (1936-2019)
• Born February 21, 1936 in Grand Falls, NL. passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, on Thursday December 12, 2019 in North Bay, Ontario with family by his side. Cyril is survived by his two daughters Mary Lynn and Cheryl Ann and Predeceased by Daughters Lilly and Wendy.
• Dad lived a full life with lots of adventure. He left Grand Falls at an early age and travelled across Canada working for the Circus, and Midways. He worked on the Ships of the Great Lakes and for the Railway too. He made his way to the Lumber Mill Camps at Little McDougall Lake. On his days off from The Lumber Mill he would come to North Bay to spend his pay cheque and this is where he met our Mother Mary-Lou. He settled down to family life and worked for 25 years at Rahn’s Metals and Plastics. In his retirement he was a custodian at Boart Longyear and Metso.
• Always an avid trout/ice fisherman, and annual partridge and moose hunter. Guaranteed to find him scouring the streams in the back of Sundridge or Diver with his daughter Cheryl Ann on a Saturday morning coming home with some delicious speckles for the frying pan. He was a die hard Toronto Maple Leaf Fan and we grew up with Hockey Night in Canada being a weekly Saturday night event in our household. Dad was a proud but simple man always willing to help and always there for his girls. Those who knew our Father knew he was a kind and gentle man and would always have a good story to tell. He liked his beer too!
• Dad was a proud Grandpa to Jamie Lee, Cody and Shana Beatty. Melissa and Alicia Beatty. Alexis and Bradley Eaton. Great Grandpa to 10 great grand children.
• He is also survived by siblings Edward, Gordon, Joan, Katherine, Clayton, Paul. Predeceased by his sister Margaret and brother Jim. Proud uncle to several Nephews and Nieces.
• Mary and Cheryl would like to thank Dr. Prins the Nursing staff and all the support staff of Cassellholme for the always patient and professional guidance and care Dad received while we muddled our way through the final years of Dementia. The care and overwhelming support of staff, friends and family this week while we waited for Dad to take his final journey will always be remembered and deeply appreciated. Thank you!
• Cremation has taken place and Dad’s life will be celebrated at a later date in 2020 with family and friends.
• Donations would be greatly appreciated to The Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
• Rest In Peace Dad and we know your already fishing with Max at your side.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Cyril Maxwell Eastman December 12 2019..
