With deep sorrow, the Poland family announce the passing of Bruce William Poland of Thedford, at the age of 68 on December 16, 2019, in Las Vegas.
Bruce loved and was loved by his wife Carol, married for 48 years, together they raised their family, Rob (Jodie), and Don (Paulina). Bruce continued to see his family grow, taking great pride in his Granddaughters, Hailey, Hannah, Paige, and Maya.
Missed brother of Ken (Janice), Bob (Joyce), Marilyn (Tony) and Joanne. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews,great-nieces and nephews. Bruce will be missed by his extended family and friends. Bruce is predeceased by his parents Lyle and Jean Poland.
Beginning Bruce Poland & Sons Trucking & Excavation in 1977, Bruce eventually was able to work along-side both of his sons and even had special co-pilot assistance from his granddaughters on occasion during the first 42 years of his business. Bruce loved traveling through the United States with his family. He vacationed in Mexico, then Jamaica became his favourite. He enjoyed playing baseball and hockey in his younger years, then watching his sons enjoy the same sports.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street East in Forest from 12pm-1pm with a service conducted at 1pm with Rev. Dr. Christine O’Reilly officiating. Interment will take place at Pinehill Cemetery followed by a reception at the Legacy Centre in Thedford.
A casual dress service will take place at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street East in Forest, with Rev. Dr. Christine O’Reilly officiating.
