Robert Ernest Gardner, age 67, of Stratford passed away on December 23, 2019. Born in Stratford, son of the late Orval and Yvonne Gardner. Bob graduated from Northwestern Secondary School. He then worked in the office at Crane before learning carpentry from Don McLeod and later working at Culliton Brothers for many years. Bob took great pride in his many gardens. He loved the Montreal Canadiens and watching his kids play sports. He also enjoyed camping with his family, loved a good campfire and having a drink with his brothers and friends.
Beloved husband for 44 years of Nancy (Wheatley). Loving father of Matt (Patricia), Julie (Brad), Paul (Sara) and Kevin. Devoted Grandfather to Michael and Alice. Brother of John (Sharon), Dan and Bill (Rosemary). Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marion Alexander, Larry Wheatley (Marilyn), Karen Adair (Wayne) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother David and father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Doris Wheatley.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Bob’s life in the Reception Centre of the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, December 29, from 1-4 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford Perth Humane Society, Canadian Mental Health Association Perth or the charity of one’s choice through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
