Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at the age of 73. Born 1946 in Netherhouse, Sandwick, Orkney Isles. Arthur’s life revolved around farming, driving his tractors and spending time with his family. Dear father of Margaret Mitchell (Scott), Arthur Smith (Heather), John Smith (Laura), Tiffany Nicholson-Smith, Victoria Frail (William) and Kristen Doyle (Jordan). Cherished grandfather of Kyle, Trevor, Dylan, Michael, Tiffany, Bronwyn, Tyler, Larissa, Joel, Isabella, Charlotte and Liam. Great-grandpa of Mason, Taelyn, Braylee, Alaister, Veronica & Clayton. Guiding influence to Jeremy & Andrew. Loving brother of Charlie, Mary & Lawrence. Predeceased by siblings Annie, Sandy, Willie, Chrissy, John, Victor & Baby Margaret. Arthur will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, December 20th, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Private Family Service.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Arthritis Society or Headwaters Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Arthur in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
