Alvin Norman Gehring 1937 2019

Obituary of Alvin Norman Gehring
Alvin Norman Gehring, born to Edward and Mary Gehring on June 27, 1937 on the old homestead near Fenwood, SK, passed away at Regina General Hospital on December 5, 2019. Predeceased by his parents and brother Elroy Gehring. Alvin is lovingly survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty-Lou; Daughter Penny Simmons (Jack) Grandchildren Dallas, Denny, Chris, Amber, Jenna and Jayda; Son Duane Gehring (Jackie) Grandchildren Darren and Kaden, who spent the last days of his life with him and kept him comfortable until his peaceful passing. He will also be remembered by his brother Warren; sisters Marlene and Shirley, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He had a special request of one of his many great grandchildren, the apple of his eye Madison to be present in his last day. This joy allowed him to go to sleep peacefully. Alvin worked for Coop Dairies for many years and was proud to be Ron Lancaster’s milkman. He then hauled gas for many years until he retired from Pe Ben Transport. His work ethic, kept him working, until he was close to 80 years old with Coop Grocery and Gas. Alvin was also a Rider volunteer. He had a passion for sport and kids. He coached his son in hockey in the winter and his daughter in softball in the spring. His work ethic was instilled in his children and he always pushed them to be their best. They always had the best training and equipment his hard earned money could afford and taught them what a Dad really is, as well as, the meaning of uncondional love!
See you in the funny papers Dad! Get that oil changed!
