Adam Richard “Dick” Currie
Peacefully on Friday Dec. 20, 2019 at Carman Memorial Hospital, Richard (Dick) Currie, aged 84, passed away, with his family at his side.
He will be deeply missed by his wife. Myrlene, of almost 60 years, son Roger (Janet), son Glenn (Cheryl), daughter Heather (Chris) and grandchildren, Taylor, Sheldon, Dawson, Olivia, Makinley, Coleton, Madison and Jaxson. He was pre-deceased by his sister Eileen and his brother Donald.
Dick grew up on the family farm, in the Thornhill area. He met his true love when she came to teach in Darlingford. They were married in Rosebank United Church on April 16, 1960 and settled in Morden where he was employed as a carpenter. He 1964, they purchased a farm in the McDermott district, north of Carman where they farmed until 2001 when they retired to Carman.
His antique collecting, his Studebakers, playing cards, golfing, curling, camping and spending time with his family and friends filled his life with joy.
Funeral service will be held at the Carman United Church on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Dick can be made to the Carman United Church or to Carman Hospital Palliative Care.
