CORKE. James (Jamie) William – surrounded by the love of his family, at the Stedman Hospice after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on December 6th, 2019; Jamie Corke in his 65th year. Loving husband of 41 years to Vicki (nee Mellors). Devoted father of Brandon and his wife Ally, Becky and her husband Jesse. Proud loving Papa of Liam, Anna-Lee, Tyson and Myles. Cherished son in law of Joan Mellors. Brother to Murray (late Nancy), brother-in-law to Larry & Annette, Don & Lynda, Glenn & Terri. Nephew of Janice Corke. Adored by many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by parents Ed and Marg Corke and sister Cheryl. Jamie was a longtime employee of Canadian Blue Bird and The Marco Corporation. An avid athlete best known for his achievements in baseball and badminton, Jamie is a member of the Brantford sports hall of fame, was honoured as a top 100 player in the Intercounty Baseball League as a legendary Brantford Red Sox player. Jamie was an active member of St Mark’s Anglican Church, a respected Umpire and longtime member of The Cyril Stone Bridge Club. An honourary member of The M&M’s club, Jamie was a friend to many. Memorial visitation to be held at TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral service to be held at St Mark’s Anglican Church, 155 Memorial Drive, Brantford, Thursday at 12 pm on the 12th day of the 12th month, for our favourite number 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Stedman Hospice, Hemophilia Ontario or St Mark’s Anglican Church.
