Obituary of Patricia Watson
Watson, Patricia Anne, (nee Gunn), 86 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, beloved wife of the late James Manley Watson (2008), in her adopted home and garden at the Sun Parlor Home. Loving step-mother of Scott Watson (Julia), the late Richard Watson (2005) (Louise), and Janet Van Elslander (Gary). Cherished niece of the late Helen Dunbar MacKenzie Kay (2009). Dear sister of the late William Gunn (2000) (Doris) (2010) and dear friend of Anne and June. Known for her work at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Patricia was passionate about the natural world, the outdoors, camping, and her dogs. She shared her love of native plant, habitat, and herb gardening, and birding with young and old alike. She was known affectionately as Aunt Pat to many young aspiring nature lovers. Patricia was proud of her Scottish heritage and she served her community with her husband Jim in the Leamington Horticultural Society as a dedicated volunteer, tending to public gardens around town and leading wreath-making workshops at Christmas time. She was an accomplished gardener and birder and valued her close connections in those communities. Patricia’s family is eternally grateful for the compassionate care provided by the Doctors, Nurses, Caregivers, and Staff at the Sun Parlor Home, the Erie St.Clair Community Care Access Centre, and for the support of her friends. With respect for Patricia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Sun Parlour Home or the charity of your choice by contacting the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631).
