Mildred Jane “Midge” (Lynk) Phillips – age 73, of
Canning, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville, following a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late James

raised in a loving farm family in Kingsport. She loved puzzles, bingo
and bossing people around. Midge liked to tease, give her opinions,
loved her Blue Jays and her family. Her children, grandchildren and
extended family were her most cherished possession. She loved and
cheered for us all no matter what. We can only hope that her
extraordinary strength will live on through us. She will be
missed by daughters, Michelle Phillips (Colen Parsons), Edmonton, AB;
Margaret Phillips (Karl Kean), Halifax; sons, Michael Phillips (Julie
West), Grafton; Matthew (Shannon) Phillips, Canning;
grandchildren, Sarah (Pranil) Gounder, Edmonton, AB; Andrew Rogers
(Amber Hirtle), Glenmont; Kempton Phillips (Jamie-Lee Smith), Tremont;

(Gary Sherman); brothers, Roy (Sharon), Medford; Clarence (Debbie),
Canning; Joseph, Kentville; Robert (MaryAnn) Keefe, Kingsport; Murray
(Chrissy), Kingsport; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband, Frederick “Freddie”; brothers, David, Lawrence and
Ronald. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by
request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will
be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the Emmanuel United
Church, Kingsport, Reverend Ivan Norton officating. Interment will
take place at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County.
Many thanks to her special friend, Bob MacLean and her neighbors from
Glooscap Manor. Their friendship and care these past few years has
meant so much to all of us and we continue to be ever grateful. The
family would also like to thank the staff at the Valley Regional
Hospital for the excellent care and comfort they provided, not only to
our mother, but our family as well. Donations in memory may be made to
Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
