William Roy “Bill” Haines
1931-2019
William Roy “Bill” Haines – 88, of
Kentville, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Evergreen Home
for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Coopers Cove, Newfoundland, he
was a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Brown) Haines. Bill was a
30 year veteran of the RCMP having served in various detachments
across the country. Following his retirement he had a 15 year career
in sales of law enforcement merchandise. Bill was a member
of the Kentville Masonic Lodge No. 58. He was an avid curler and loved
to golf. He is survived by a daughter, Janet (Todd) Campbell,
Nackawic, NB; two sons, Robert (Rose), Windsor, ON and Donald (Judy
Kavanagh), Ottawa, ON; a granddaughter, Sarah Carrier, Nackawic, NB; a
great grandson, Riley Heppell, at home; a brother, Samuel
“Max” (Judy), Ottawa. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie
“Joy” (Weaver); a brother, Frank “Bert”.
Cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation, by request. A Masonic Lodge service, followed by a
reception, will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019
in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may
be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Port Williams. The
family would like to express their appreciation to Paula Morine for
the care, kindness and compassion given to Bill. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
