Walter M. Hewko
The family is sad to announce the peaceful passing of Walter M. Hewko on October 24, 2019.
Walter leaves behind by his beloved wife, Henrietta; son, David of Calgary; and grandson, Daniel Hewko of Calgary. Predeceased by father, Mike; mother, Tekla; three brothers and five sisters.
Raised on a farm near Mundare, Walter always loved being outdoors, the many camping trips taken with his family, and travelling. His hobbies reflected his love of nature with his many woodworking projects and spending time tending his vegetables in the garden, as well as taking up oil painting. With his three degrees, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and Masters of Education, Walter spent 35 years as a teacher, vice principal, and a principal in various Edmonton public schools.
Funeral Service Thursday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton, with interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
