Obituary for
Louise May Evans (Butson)
Evans, Louise:
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at Parkwood Mennonite Home at the age of 86.
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Evans (1979).
Loving mother of Ruth Anne (Andy) Joseph and Linda (Peter) McLellan.
Cherished Grandma of Jennifer, Evan and Laura.
Will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Loril and Pearl Butson, and her siblings, Harris, Frank and Madeline.
Louise was born on the family farm outside of Mitchell. She pursued a career in nursing, both in Calgary and London, until she married Gordon in 1960 and moved to a farm outside of St. Mary’s. Louise was a faithful churchgoer and was involved in the church all her life. In 2005, she moved to Kitchener to be closer to her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed sitting down with a good book.
Louise’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7 – 9 pm on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 9 – 9:45am on Monday, October 28th, 2019, followed by a service in the chapel at 10am. Reception to follow. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Parkwood Mennonite Home, Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington or Kitchener East Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
