Linda Lawrence Sunday October 6th 2019 avis de deces

Daughter of Terry and Shirley Lawrence; deeply loved and respected Mother of Heather and Brian (Lenie, nee Cacao), big sister of Barb Thom (James), Donna Walby Lawson and KevinLawrence (Shannon).
Linda was a favourite Auntie to Dillon and Katie Ezerins, Brandon and Clay Walby, Ben and Noah Lawrence and Mike and Kristi Lawson. She loved babies and was tickled to be Great Auntie to Ayden and Declyn Walby, Lillian Boxell and Lennon Lawson. One of too many cousins to count, Linda’s quirky sense of humour and original wit made her memorable to all.
We will miss her.
Born in Clinton, ON, Linda lived from Nova Scotia to Vancouver Island. Father, Terry was military, and Mom, Shirley, found her place by his side from Exeter, ON, where baby sister Barbara was born, to Greenwood, NS, where Donna and brother Kevin, completed the family.
Posted to Moose Jaw, SK, then Ottawa, where Linda graduated Grade 13 from Sir Wilfred Laurier High School. In the mid 70’s she moved to Winnipeg to join Mom and siblings. On a visit to Dad and wife Jane, in Borden, ON, Linda decided to move to Victoria, BC, to follow her heart. Heather was born there in 1977, followed by Brian in 1979.
With both parents in Winnipeg, Linda was drawn back in 1982. Finding herself a single mom, and determined to excel, Linda earned diplomas at RRCC in Creative Communications and Journalism. An event coordinator, Linda organized numerous functions, including a major Wellness Expo in Winnipeg.
Poor health increasingly took away Linda’s physical functions, until she was finally wheelchair bound, a double amputee. Survivor of so much, she never lost her passion for what she held dear to her heart:
Her children Heather and Brian, and Lenie, who she called her cute little girl, and treasured, as she knew Brian would be cared for. Her family; those in this world, and beyond. Her Father, God. The British invasion; i.e. fashion and Rock ‘n’ Roll. The colour orange. Handsome men. The Eagles. Water. Swimming; she could fly through that water. Skiing. Janis Joplin and Joe Cocker. Laughing. Ice cream. Fish and chips. Turkey dinners.
Dancing. Cats. The beach. People that smile back and so much more. She loved life, and she loved love. Be at peace, finally, Linda.
We love you.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:00pm at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent, OakBank, MB.
