Joseph “Joe” Henry’s Obituary
PICTOU LANDING – Joseph Henry “Joe” Fraser, 86, Pictou Landing, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou Landing, he was a son of the late John Dan and Alice Annie (Graham) Fraser. In earlier years, Joe was a seaman on the survey ship, The Baffin, following, he was employed as a welder at the former Trenton Works. Joe was a hard-working man who was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving are daughters, Wanda Fraser, Abercrombie; Alice (Wade) Brown, Millbrook; sons, Phillip Fraser, Pictou Landing; Raymond (Odessa) Fraser, Hillside; Andrew Fraser, Pictou Landing; sisters, Mary Mazur, Thunder Bay, Ont.; brother, Leslie (Yvonne) Fraser, Thunder Bay, Ont.; son-in-law, John Verrall, Porter’s Lake; brother-in-law, Garnet Worthen, Alma; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Louise (Wilson); daughter, Mary Jean Fraser-Verrall; sisters, Sarah MacKenzie, Margaret White, Harriett Irving, Minnie Tupper, Bessie MacKay and Mae Worthen; brothers, Graham and William Fraser.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27th in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pictou Landing with a reception to follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Hall, Pictou Landing.
