John Joseph “Joey” Tobin
1958-2019
John Joseph “Joey” Tobin of North Tryon, age 61
years, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Joey
was an accomplished horseman, a master carver, woodworker, educator
and friend to many. He purchased, renovated and restored the
historic grist mill in North Tryon, where he lived, worked and kept
his horses. He is survived by his sisters Linda MacKinnon
(Scott, Stuart, and Tricia), Deborah Tobin, Robin Pardy (Christine),
Theresa Tobin and his dog Salty. Predecesed by his parents
John Lawrence Tobin and Carmel Veronica (nee McIsaac) Tobin, siblings
Mark Tobin (Keene), Colleen McLeod (Michael, Carole, and Andrew), and
Lawrence Tobin. No wake or funeral by personal
request. Arrangements entrusted to Dawson Funeral Home,
