Glennie’s Obituary
UHLMAN, Glennie Mae ~ Age 91, of Windermere, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Factorydale, Kings Co., on June 7, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Frank E. and Evelyn M. (Gates) Stingel. Glennie had worked for many years as laundry manager at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, until retirement. She was a member of Morristown Baptist Church. Glennie loved music, spending time with family and outings on the snowmobile and four-wheeler. She and her late husband loved to travel and go camping. Glennie played in a band with her brother and sister and were well known for playing at weddings and Saturday night dances in the area. She will be missed by her family and friends. Surviving are daughter, Rhonda (Michael) Conrad, Factorydale; son, Gordon (Fern) Uhlman, Windermere; grandchildren, Nathasha Uhlman (Danny Veinot), Adam and Logan Conrad; great grandchildren, Jace Uhlman and Fallan Veinot; sister, Eileen (the late Howard) Clark; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Carroll S. Uhlman; sisters, Hazel (Harold) Weir, Violet (Paul) Banks and Olive (Merle) Wheeler; brother, Harry (Mildred) Stingel. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Morristown Cemetery, with Chaplain Steave Hingley officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to your favourite charity.
