It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Simone Abitbol, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, after a blessed life, at the age of ninety-six. Beloved wife of the late Roger for sixty-two years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Peggy and the late Melvin Kurzencwyg, Sylvain and Ilona. Especially loved ‘Niania’ of Dan, Jack and Jennifer; David and Angela, Simon and Tina, and Sarah. Very proud great-grandmother of Maya, Sophia, and Sam. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Roger and the late Liliane Zeitoun, the late Jenny and the late Elios Cohen-Solal, the late Henri and the late Dolly Zeitoun. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and by all those whose lives she touched. Special thanks to the management and staff at CHSLD Bussey for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth Ora Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at 280 Hymus Blvd. #506, Pointe-Claire, Wednesday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Due to the advent of Rosh Hashanah, shiva will end Friday afternoon.
