Obituary of Robert Gordon George
Deer Lake
October 19, 1925 – September 27, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Gordon George announce his passing on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Western Memorial Hospital in his 94th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Brenda (Jasper), Lorraine (Ronald), Nina (Fraser), Nicholas (Cathy); cherished grandchildren: Joanne (Owen), Melanie (Jamie), Jennifer (Benjamin), Michael (Angela), Byron (Melissa), Shelly-Ann (Ansel), Donica (Douglas), Robert (Karla), Stephanie, Paul (Danielle); 17 great grandchildren; brothers: James (Candy), Winston (Patty); sisters: Edith, Clara (Kenneth); brothers-in-law: Eric (Augusta), John (Glenda), Robert (Gertrude); sisters-in-law: Marie, Joan, Valerie (David), Irene (Ivan); as well as a large number of nieces and nephews and friends. Also leaving to mourn very special friends and honorary grandkids from Queen Street.
He was predeceased by the love of his life for 69 years Nellie George (Baker); his parents Stanley and Elizabeth George; parents-in-law Nicholas and Edith Mae Baker; brothers: William and Howard; sisters: Kitty, Ella, Emily, Irene, Mae; brother-in-law Everett; sisters-in-law Janie, Emma, Addwina, Janet.
Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Dr., Deer Lake on Sunday, September 29th from 7-9pm and Monday, September 30th from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, 45 Bennett Avenue, Deer Lake on Tuesday, October 1st at 2pm, with Pastor Jeffrey White officiating. Interment will take place following the service at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery on Wight’s Road, Deer Lake.
