Strum, Robert “Bob” Francis
A long time resident of Dartmouth passed away on September 6, 2019 at the age of 94.
Bob was a Boy Scout, a reservist and enlisted in the army during WWII. He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, the “North Novies” in the European campaign where he was wounded.
He was an avid woodsmen who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp in Sheet Harbour. He was a dedicated blood donor and as such was recognized by the The Canadian Red Cross Society.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughters Maureen Aucoin (Tom), Kathleen Driscoll (George), both of Dartmouth, Eileen Deveau (David) Uxbridge, Ont., Barbara Lee (Winston), Saint John, N.B., grandchildren, Paul Aucoin (Aimee Corbett), Theresa Driscoll, Maria Driscoll (Ian Pearce), Diane Deveau, Monica Deveau, Rebecca Lee, David Lee, Jessica Lee(Terry Gulliver), great-grandchildren, Dominic and Matthew Driscoll.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Eileen Margaret “Peggy” and their daughter Roberta.
A Funeral mass to be held at Saint Thomas More Roman Catholic in Dartmouth where he and Peggy were among the founding congregation and life time members.
Family Internment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the War Amps of Canada or a charity of your choice.
