Robert Beattie

With heartfelt sadness Bob’s family announces his passing at St. Boniface hospital on September 18, 2019.
Pre-deceased by parents Doreene(Latham) & Gordon Beattie, he is survived by his loving sisters Trish Gibson & Linda (Louis) Laberge; nephews &neices Ian(Jen) Gibson, Jill (Caleb) Irving, Marc Laberge, Deb (Greg) Slywchuk, Michael (Christie) Laberge; as well as 12 beloved great nephews & nieces.
Bob was born with Down Syndrome. He led a full happy life filled with unconditional love, acceptance & a little mischief. Bob was employed by Versatech (Imaginability) for 35 years. He enjoyed his job especially payday & the annual Christmas dinner & dance where he didn’t sit down once the music started. He participated in Special Olympics including bowling, floor hockey, baseball & track & field. Following the death of his parents Bob moved to a group home within the Pulford Community Living family where he thrived alongside his housemates Jim & Rudy.
Many thanks to Pulford for providing such wonderful support to Bob over 17 yrs. A very special thank you to Tricia, Ola & Phillip for giving Bob such exceptional care these last few months.
A private celebration of life will be held October 6, 2019. If anyone wishes, donations to Pulford Community Living 5- 1146 Waverley St (to help support another special person) would be greatly appreciated.
