Phillip ‘Paul’ Greencorn
1958-2019
GREENCORN, Phillip
“Paul” – Age 61, Mulgrave,
passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on
Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Born in Antigonish on August 14, 1958,
Paul was the son of the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Brendal)
Greencorn.
Paul was employed with Martin Marietta Materials for the last
34 years up until his illness and was known there as the
“King of the Hill”. He took great pride in his work.
Paul loved the outdoors and could be found cutting firewood and stock
piling it for years to come, or combing the beaches of Cape Breton
collecting sea glass. He was truly gifted with so many talents in his
life and could accomplish anything he put his hands to. Paul was also
a long-serving former member of the Mulgrave Volunteer Fire Dept,
having been with them for 15 years.
He was a special father, brother, uncle, grandfather and
friend to many. He leaves to mourn his soul mate, Belinda; son, Brian
(Roselee), Mulgrave; daughter, Pamela (Shane) Donnelly, Cochrane, AB;
grandchildren, Ashton, Ainslee, Addison and Connor; brothers, Edward
(Wanda), Alphonse (Jackie), both of Port Hawkesbury; Kenneth (Sandra),
Lincolnville; sisters, Diane (Archie) and Helga, both of Mulgrave; his
two special little friends, Sarah Jane and Maria who referred to him
as “Paul Greenberry”. Paul was predeceased by
brothers, Kristean Phillip in infancy and Hans Jurgen; brother-in-law,
John B. MacKinnon; special fur buddy, Fourtrax.
Special thanks to Continuing Care, especially nurse Jackie,
Homecare and to the Palliative Care Team – Dr. Cooper and
nurse Kyla. It was because of these services that Paul was granted his
only wish, to stay at home until the time of his
passing.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday in the Mulgrave
and Area Resting Place. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday from St.
Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mulgrave with Rev. Susan Slater
officiating. Burial in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Building Fund,
Mulgrave and Area Resting Place or a charity of one’s
choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Phillip ‘Paul’ Greencorn..
