EMBREE Peter Ernest 1933-2019 of Port Hawkesbury and formerly of Pleasant Hill, which occurred Wednesday September 11, 2019 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
He was a son of the late Freeman C. and Evangeline (Perry) Embree.
Peter was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing; he had great respect for nature and at one point raised pheasants to release back into the wild. He served his Country through his service in the Canadian Military and was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury.
He is survived by his children June MacKay, Irene (Larry) Boudreau, Carolina (Dennis) Burnside, Lucy Embree, Peter (Laurella) Embree, Freeman Embree and Shane Embree, 14 grand children, 16 great grand children, 6 brothers, 6 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean, 6 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 great grandson
The late Peter Embree, will rest in Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard Street on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where a legion service will be held at 7 pm
Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Heather Emmanuel presiding; burial to follow in St. David’s Cemetery, Port Hastings.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
