Norma Carter
It is with great sadness that
the family of Norma Carter announce her passing on Wednesday,
September 11, 2019, at the age of 85.
Norma was the youngest
daughter of the late Domine (Thebeau) and Israel Daigle of Rexton, New
Brunswick. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by her
husband, George Carter (2003) and all of her siblings, sisters Emma
and Catherine, brothers Thomas, Raymond, Harold and
Arnold.
Norma was a loving and devoted
wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church and was a life time
member of the Catholic Women’s League. Norma was a faithful woman. The
rosary was an important part of her everyday
life.
Norma’s motivation in life was
always centered around family, home and kindness to others. Over the
years she enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, quilting, square
dancing, baking (especially for others), and travelling. Norma and her
husband George enjoyed 17 years of holidaying in Florida, along with
several trips to Europe and the Caribbean. She was also an
accomplished artist. In later years, Norma especially enjoyed summer
gatherings in Rexton with all of “The Daigle
Clan”.
Norma will be greatly missed
and forever loved by her children, Gary (Bernette) Carter of
Quispamsis, Jocelyn Carter of Moncton, Kathy (Greg) McNally of
Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and John (Colleen) Carter of Saint John.
Norma is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Daniel Carter, Christine
Roherty, David Carter and Claire McNally and 4 great grandchildren,
Stella, Alice, Penelope and George.
Norma’s last 3 years were
spent at Serenacare Nursing Home, Moncton. Susan, Kelly and staff
showed such love and kindness to our dear Mother. We will always be
grateful for that.
