Peacefully at the Maple View Lodge in Athens on Friday, August 30, 2019, Maaike deJong of Chesterville, age 93. Beloved wife of the late Stuart deJong. Loving mother of Grace Staal (Basil) of Navan, Anne Bouwers (John) of Metcalfe, Bill deJong of Athens, John deJong (Hilda) of Brockville, the late Abraham deJong (Yvonne Morgan) of Athens, Teresa Madden (Keith) of Prescott, Jenny Van Ryswyk (Peter) of Lyndhurst, Pat deJong of Nepean, Hilda de Kroon (Henry) of Lansdowne, Rita Heymans (Gerry) of Russell, Sylvia Harmsma (Rick) of Mallorytown, Harold deJong (Laura Lee) of Chesterville and Connie Meinema (Dan) of Renfrew. Survived by her sister Ytje Kloosterman of Alberta, her brother Abraham Kloosterman (Anje) of the Netherlands and her sister-in-law Janke Kloosterman of the Netherlands. Beppe will be sadly missed by 50 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her infant sister Ytje, her sisters Pietertje van der Werf, Roelofke DeJong, Tjitske Kronemeijer and her brothers Engbert, Hans, Joeke and Harmen Kloosterman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
Friends may call at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m., then at the Williamsburg Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, September 4th from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Donations to Timothy Christian School would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
