Louise “Lou” Henderson
1921-2019
Louise “Lou” Henderson – 98, passed away
peacefully at home in Kentville surrounded by her loving family, on
Saturday, September 21, 2019. Louise was born on August 23, 1921, in
Natick, Massachusetts to Edith Johnsen (Bermuda) and William Day
(Parrsboro). Although born in Natick, she spent most of her youth in
Bermuda where her grandparents ran the Roseacre Guest House. In her
early teens, she even walked the beach with Albert Einstein when he
and his family stayed at the guest house while waiting to enter the
USA. She moved to Nova Scotia in her mid-teens, eventually marrying
Harold Henderson and settling in Inverness where they raised their
family and ran Henderson’s General Store. In retirement, she
and Harold moved to Bridgewater to be closer to their children. She
was predeceased by her husband, Harold, and sisters, Ritta Wright and
Mary Grantmyre. She is survived by her sons, Doug and Bruce (Barb);
and daughter, Ann Miller (Steve); grandchildren, Colleen, James and
Lynn; Chris, Jill and Jenny; William, Heather and Catherine; eight
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation or service at Louise’s
request. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences
