John Jenkins

Jenkins, John passed away suddenly at the Owen Sound Hospital on Saturday September 21, 2019. John Price Jenkins of Southampton and formerly of Orangeville at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Dorothy McLachlan for 44 years. Proud and loving father to Philip Jenkins. Grandpa John leaves behind his one and only precious granddaughter Annabelle. They both will deeply miss each other’s love and time spent together. Dear brother to Patricia “Tish” Jenkins and brother-in-law to Debby McLachlan and Bill McLachlan. Loved uncle to Shannon & Kimberly, and great uncle to Gwyneth, Madelyn, and Jack. Predeceased by his parents John & Cecelia, by his brother-in-law Jack Germain, and by Dorothy’s parents Bill & Lorree. John was a talented chef by trade and loved cooking for everyone. For the last 2 1⁄2 years, John and Dorothy spent an incredibly happy retirement in Southampton, enjoying the beach, the sunsets, the fishing, and most of all the people. However John’s biggest accomplishment was his golf games. John & Dorothy enjoyed their trips abroad immensely. John’s mother passed away when he was 16 years old, and she came for him on her birthday, September 21. Cremation has taken place. A casual come and go to Celebrate John’s Life will be held at the Saugeen Golf Club, 5278 Bruce County Rd 3, Port Elgin, on Sunday October 20, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Flag, Southampton.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John Jenkins..
