Janet Catherine Rolfe

Rolfe, Janet Catherine (Eldershaw) – 71 of Bayhead (Tatamagouche), passed away September 9, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with her cherished family by her side after a brave battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Burton E. Eldershaw and Ethel (Cross) Eldershaw and her son, Patrick. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Raymond; Her sons, Raymond Jr., Dartmouth; Tommy ( Nancy), Porters Lake; stepson, Derek Naugle ( Nancy), Eastern Passage; Her loving niece, Sherri Siteman, Dartmouth; and her best friend, Marty McKay, Prince George, B.C.; Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Janet was on the board of the Leisure Planning Committee in Lake Charlotte. Also, she enjoyed running the canteen at Clam Harbour Beach for several years and continued her cooking skills on an oil rig. Janet became a CCA while working at Ocean View Manor in Eastern passage from where she retired and later worked part time at Willow Lodge Home for Special Care in Tatamagouche. She truly loved to cook for her family and friends and always made sure you left with a full belly. Janet could always find a good yard sale and always came home with a few treasures. Her true passion was travelling with her last big trip being New York City with her travelling girls who also took her to PEI even though she was sick and so determined to go, She truly loved it. Her final travelling wish was booked, however, we hope heaven is like Hawaii. She truly was touched by the kindness generous consideration of so many who called emailed phone and took time to come visit her during her illness. Thank you to Nancy Naugle who took her to all her appointments, she truly loved you!
Cremation has taken place, as with her wishes, no visitation or funeral will be held. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
