Hazel is survived by Harold’s brother Howard, sisters Irene (David) Falk, and Anita (Herb) Kendze, several cousins including special cousin Edna Burns, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Hazel leaves to mourn her passing her six children: Constance (Erwin) Stanzel, sons Dean (Alisa), Erika, Alana & Benjamin, and Kent (Janel), Taylor & Tanya; Ronald (Geraldine) children Erin (Dave Dalley), Valerie & Matthew, and Brock (Hilary King), Elleka & James; Kathy (Tom) Barrington, Kathy’s children Ryan (Crystal) Hunter, Paige, and Darci (Michael) Bermingham, sons Colton and Grayson; Kelly (Carol Parker), Jill (Alec) Harper, Mark, Joshua & Michelle; James (Georgina); and Scott (Kim), son Jared (Ian Taylor).
Hazel was born June 10, 1922 in Wadena and was raised on a farm near Hendon. She attended Normal School in Regina and subsequently taught at Truax/Dummer, then Yellow Grass. In 1944 she began teaching primary grades in LeRoy, met Harold and married him in 1946. They built and opened LeRoy Locker Plant in 1948 and operated it until 1974, adding groceries and dry goods in 1959. They downsized their store when they were granted the Liquor Vendor license for LeRoy in 1972 and operated the smaller store/Liquor Vendor until retirement in 1987.
Hazel and Harold retired to a suite in LeRoy for a couple of years, then in 1993, they moved to Aberdeen where they lived until Harold’s death in 2001. Hazel moved to St. Volodymyr Villa in Saskatoon the next year and lived there until she fell and broke her hip in August 2013. After spending nearly 5 of the following 7 months in hospital Hazel finally was able to get settled in Ashton Care Home where she lived out her life, happy in the warm and loving care of Emyou, Sileshi, Wilma, Flora and Rupe.
Hazel always identified herself as a teacher. She loved teaching and her former pupils who have sought her out over the years indicate that she was a good and beloved teacher. She was active for many years in the United Church Sunday School as teacher and superintendent.
A Memorial and Committal service will take place in LeRoy at a later date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Hazel Selena Annett Knudsen..
